Singinawa Jungle Lodge

Spanning 58 acres of re-wilded forest near Kanha’s Mukki gate—stone cottages, private jungle villas, an in-house Gond art museum, and expert naturalist tiger tracking define eco-luxury living.

THE STORY OF THE LODGE

A 58-Acre Restored Forest Lodge & Gond Art Sanctuary

Derived from the indigenous dialect meaning “Protector of the Sacred Tiger,” Singinawa Jungle Lodge is a benchmark for ecological restoration and cultural preservation in Central India. Situated on 58 acres of re-wilded forest bordering Kanha National Park near the quiet Mukki gate, the lodge was established with a dual mandate: to restore degraded land into a natural wilderness sanctuary and celebrate the artistic heritage of Central India’s forest tribes.

The architecture embraces traditional vernacular principles, blending local stone masonry, terracotta roof tiles, and open-air timber verandas into the surrounding woodland. Structures are spaced generously across the 58-acre estate, allowing deer, wild boar, and over 150 species of birds to move freely between private cottages and natural waterbodies.

Accommodations comprise 12 spacious stone cottages and two exclusive four-bedroom jungle bungalows (Wildflower Villa and Meadow Villa). Each cottage features lofty ceilings, stone floors, fireplaces for chilly winter nights, hand-carved wooden furniture, clawfoot soaking tubs, and wide private verandas opening directly onto the forest floor.

Gastronomy at Singinawa is a farm-to-table experience anchored by fresh produce from the lodge’s organic gardens and local village farms. Meals are served in the central dining pavilion overlooking the forest, on the poolside terrace, or as private candlelit dinners in the meadow. Menus feature a combination of wholesome regional Madhya Pradesh recipes, tribal specialties, and international comfort food.

Days at Singinawa balance wildlife tracking with deep cultural immersion. Guests embark on morning and afternoon 4×4 open-top safaris through the Mukki gate with seasoned naturalists to track Bengal tigers, leopards, and hard-ground barasingha Back at the lodge, guests can tour the on-site Kanha Museum of Life and Art, take guided nature walks through the re-wilded forest, or relax at the spa and outdoor pool.
