Hospitality across these territories developed around very specific human and cultural intentions. In the coffee estates of Coorg and the Cardamom Hills, planters and indigenous communities carved sustainable sanctuaries into dense forest canopies. Along the backwaters of Kerala, ancestral wooden Tharavads slated for destruction were rescued and reassembled piece-by-piece.
